Carson McCullers was a famous southern author. She wrote 2 well-known books called “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter”. Carson McCullers was born and raised in Columbus Georgia. McCullers originally wanted to be a musician but later in life she decided to go into the writing field. In 1940 Carson McCullers first novel “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter” made its big break. During this time Carson McCullers was going through rough patch in her personal life. After the split with her husband she moved into an apartment with a few other well-known writers. her second novel which was released later in the year of 1941 did not get as much good press as her first novel but was still slightly successful. In 1947 Carson McCullers was having many health journeys which included two strokes just 2 months apart. Those strokes left her paralyzed on one side. in 1948 she was so overwhelmed with all of her health issues that she attempted suicide. In 1967 McCullers suffered from a stroke and passed away. She left a memorable legacy and many memorable novels.
