Why we crave horror movies

Reading through Stephen King’s essay about horror movies I agreed and disagreed on some parts. When he said that we people are all mentally ill, I did not agree with that. Some people really are crazy, and it shows but other people are normal. But I did agree when he said that people go to the theater to see scary movies to prove that they are notscared, and I do believe that, speaking from experience. I mostly agree with everything he is saying in this essay as I read through it. We do things that scare us to get a thrill and have fun in life. I agree that emotions play a big part in the way we handle scary things. Some people enjoy watching people get killed while others cringe at the though of murder. Stephen compares a lot if movies to real life situations and he makes it sound very convincing.
